Review of “Cubicles Season 4” : A Workplace Dramedy

This slice-of-life drama by TVF streaming on SonyLiv is a refreshing peek into the ups and downs in corporate life, topped with humour, relatable characters, and an interesting storyline. Does Season-4 have enough to keep us glued through another season?

Storyline

Season 1 introduced us to Piyush Prajapati, the wide-eyed almost-fresher joining Synnotech and subsequently we followed his journey as he grew in company due to his performance in Season 2 and Season 3. In Season 4, Piyush is no longer the newbie—he’s a team leader grappling with the issues typically faced by middle management. With his three team members by his side, or rather, he standing by their side, they navigate through multiple challenges in the backdrop of pre-acquisition (by corporate giant PIC) anxieties and a phishing incident of critical client data. And just to keep things interesting, Piyush’s heart starts fluttering for Dhwani, a charming new character, adding a pleasant distraction within the workplace chaos.
The season shows how the various characters react in tough situations and ends with Piyush making a key decision, while standing at the crossroads of pivotal career progression.

Our critique

The Season 4 journey is packed with fun, drama, and typical situations from corporate sector, particularly IT.. From inter-team tussles to compliance crackdowns and job anxieties – the series nails the corporate vibe while keeping it light and binge-worthy.
The intra-team dynamics and leadership dilemmas are nicely portrayed, but Piyush’s decision-making as a leader occasionally feels a tad immature. As for the quotes (XYZ ne kaha hai..)—sprinkled liberally throughout the series, they might make you wonder if you are watching a Youtube video on quotes instead.
Still, the show’s witty humour and endearing cast make it easy to forgive these quirks. Visually, the series is aesthetic, with good direction and editing, and the music keeps the mood upbeat.

Screen Performances

Abhishek Chauhan carries the series with his heartfelt portrayal of Piyush, perfectly capturing the honesty, struggles and triumphs of a young leader. His team—Ayushi Gupta (Sunaina), Niketan Sharma (Shetty), and Ketaki Kulkarni (Neha)—share great chemistry, making their camaraderie feel authentic. Nimit Kapoor shines as the boss, Vikram, displaying managerial finesse. Newcomer Zayn as Dhwani is delightful, adding sweetness to the mix.

Overall opinion

Cubicles Season 4 might have its flaws, but its heart is in the right place. It is an enjoyable watch for anyone who’s lived the corporate life—or is just curious about it.
